1Dwayne Johnson Has No Regrets About “Candy Asses”.
Dwayne Johnson stands by the harsh words he said about some of the actors he worked with on Fast 8.
The 44-year-old, the highest-paid actor with more than $64.5 million in annual earnings, had spurred controversy in August when he said some of his “male co-workers” on Fast 8 do not “conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals” and “are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway,” adding, “Candy asses.”
Johnson, who stars in the 2017 movie with the likes of Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood, did not name names in his rant.
“I was very clear with what I said. I’ve been in the game a long time,” Johnson told.
He said he talked to studio officials after his rant, adding, “The irony is after that and as they do their tracking and all their analysis, the interest shot through the roof to a whole other level.”
The Fast & Furious movie franchise remains one of the most successful. The most recently released film, Furious 7, has made more than $1.5 billion worldwide since its April 2015 release. All seven movies have made more than $3.8 billion total.
Gibson had responded to Johnson’s rant on Instagram, calling the actor his “brother” and saying the two have “NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem” with each other.
“WE are good over here….As a cast we’re ALL married dammit!!” he added. It appears that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a big believer in the old Hollywood adage that says “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.” In a new interview with The Los Angeles Times, the newly-minted “Sexiest Man Alive” revealed that he has no regrets over his feud with Fast 8 costar Vin Diesel—which played out over social media during filming—because it brought interest in the film to soaring new heights.
