Ex-Strictly pro reveals true reason why the show ruins relationships

WILL the Strictly curse haunt this year’s contestants?

The Strictly curse is notorious for destroying celebs’ relationships as the contestants spend the majority of their week dancing in close quarters with ridiculously good-looking professionals – with their relationships often turning more than platonic.

And former Strictly-pro Flavia Cacace has a theory as to why it happens.

Flavia told The Sunday Telegraph: “I think it sends the celebrities mad.

“Some people can’t handle all that physical closeness. They fall in love with this team, this fantasy.

“Our job is to make them feel the centre of attention. It’s very addictive and it goes to some people’s heads.”

Flavia has previously been accused of falling for the curse, having ended her relationship with fellow pro Vincent Simone for previous Strictly celeb Matt Di Angelo in 2007.

Following her relationship with Matt, the curse returned when Jimi Mistry competed on the show, with Flavia marrying the actor.

Her split from Vincent – who was her dance partner from the age of 14 – was described as a “disaster” by the star but the pair are clearly back on good terms.

The ex-couple are currently touring the UK for their third and final time with their show surrounding their Argentine tango.

The first Strictly Come Dancing 2016 live show begins this weekend but you can watch the celebs take to the dance floor for the first time below.
