FORMER child star Mara Wilson has revealed that she found herself on a foot fetish website before she hit her teens.
The actress was one of the most in demand child stars of the 90s, landing leading roles in Matilda, Miracle On 34th Street and Mrs Doubtfire thanks to her ridiculously cute image.
However, when she started getting older, the offers weren’t coming in as thick and fast – and the response from the public started getting creepy.
Mara, now 29, revealed that she discovered she had started puberty when the director on Thomas And The Magic Railroad instructed her to wear a sports bra because there was a “difference in her body” now that she was 12.
And as Mara entered puberty, she began to see vile articles about her online.
The actress said that when she was 12, she discovered a website which claimed she would get more parts as she was entering “the awkward years, when she’ll be old enough to have breasts, but not old enough to show them legally”.
Mara continued: “The next page of search results linked to a website with a description that said, ‘If you want Mara Wilson nude and sex pictures, click here.’
“A few months later I found out I was listed on a foot fetish site that catalogued scenes in movies where children’s feet could be seen. Then there was the fan letter from an adult man who said he loved my legs and wanted my lip print on an index card.”
Mara, who came out as bisexual following the Orlando Pulse nightclub shootings, dropped out of acting in the noughties, although she appeared in comedy Broad City as a waitress in a Mrs Doubtfire-inspired episode.
The New York based writer’s autobiography, Where Am I Now?: True Stories Of Girlhood And Accidental Fame, is out in the UK on September 22.
