Rio Olympics Day 3 : India men’s hockey lose 1-2 to Germany

India men’s hockey:-

India lost 1-2 to Germany in the Group B encounter that they dominated but conceded a goal in the final three seconds to lose out.

Christopher Ruhr scored the goal from open play to give the defending gold medallists the second win of the competition.
The win keeps them at the top of the table while India stand third.
At half time, the two teams were level at 1-1 with Rupinder Pal Singh scoring the equaliser for India after Nikklas Wellen had given Germany the lead in the early stages of the second quarter.
SV Sunil had won India the penalty corner after a probing run down the right found a German foot.
Wellen had given Germany the lead in the 17th minute after the big player used his frame to good effect to keep away the Indian defender and shoot past PR Sreejesh.
