The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has invited the ‘Master Blaster’ to be present at the grand sporting carnival and grace the occassion.
Tendulkar took to social media and updated a picture of his on Twitter account that said, “Thrilled to go to Rio and cheer for team India! Chalo Rio mein tiranga lehraein!!!! Come on team India!”
“This will be Tendulkar’s first visit to the Olympics games. Tendulkar, during his visit he would also be meeting the Indian contingent to wish them well for the games,” a source close to Tendulkar said.
“Sachin recently visited the government hospital in Mumbai to get a yellow fever vaccination which is mandatory for countries like Brazil.”
The maestro’s presence would surely act as a morale boost for the 120 Indian athletes who will take part at Rio Olympics 2016.
